Research Challenges
To reach its ambitious scientific and technological objectives, AI4B needs to tackle the following key research challenges:
- Biomass Data Infrastructures (BDI): models to integrate and organise biomass data and biomass processing pathways, effective methods for semi-automatically exposing BDI data and processes as biomass LOD data, semi-automatic BDI data fusion, vOID (vocabularies of Interlinked Data Sets) designs for BDI metadata.
- Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI): effective methods for semi-automatically exposing SDI data as geospatial LOD data, semi-automatic SDI data fusion, vOID (vocabularies of Interlinked Data Sets) designs for SDI metadata, geospatial reasoning for LOD data.
- Linked Open Data (LOD) Management: efficient native storage solutions and methodologies for exposing and managing LOD, semi-automatic methods to interlink and fuse LOD from different data sources, efficient query services on fused LOD data, effective entity ranking in LOD keyword search, innovative HCI solutions to effectively search, browse, and author LOD.
